Memoirs of a Movie Stand-in 040

I've reached the 40th episode of this podcast and, now, I'll tell you about the production of episode 208 of the Promised Land TV series. It was a very important episode about the very serious problem of teen steroid abuse.

We used a few "practical" locations for this episode, like a huge mansion on the hills above the Utah State Capitol building...

We also used the Larry H. Miller Chevrolet dealership...

And we also used a High School in Copperton which no longer exists...

Memoirs of a Movie Stand-in 039

This time I'll tell you about the production of episode 207 of the Promised Land TV series. It's an episode which the Gospel Music Channel has chosen not to broadcast. I assume it's because the topic itself is a little too intense for afternoon viewing on such a family-friendly channel. But I'll tell you about the episode anyway and what we did behind-the-scenes.

By the way, in the middle of this podcast episode I forgot the name of an actor who, it turns out, is Craig T. Nelson. I should have remembered that!

Anyway, here's where you'll find the Lagoon amusement park...

I'm back, after a slight hiatus. But I'm ready to talk again and, this time, I'll talk about the production of episode 205 of the Promised Land television series.

The exterior we used for "Mooster's House" was actually this place at Wheeler Farm...

Memoirs of a Movie Stand-in 037

Just a little catching up today. I've been watching Promised Land on the Gospel Music Channel and I've noticed a few subtle changes compared to what was broadcast on CBS in the late 1990s. So... enjoy.

Memoirs of a Movie Stand-in 026

In late February 1997, the crew of Promised Land went to Southern Utah to film three episodes. Why? How? I'll tell you about it.

The first episode we filmed in Southern Utah was called Outrage, and it was the story of a mining company that was pushing a bunch of Native Americans off of their sacred land. As it turns out, one of those Native Americans, Jesse Rainbird, it an old friend of Russell Greene. And, as it turns out, Russell and his family show up just in time to help these people fight against injustice. So... let's talk about what happened behind the scenes.
